Campaign to Raise Awareness of Disaster Crisis among Masses Conducted in DPRK

Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) -- Organizations of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea at all levels are directing great efforts to raising the awareness of the disaster crisis among the union members.

The South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the UAWK has effectively conducted informative education to increase the awareness of crisis response and consciousness while arousing its members to finding out all the vulnerable elements and taking measures.

In North Phyongan Province, officials of the UAWK went to farms to inform them of the experience of the advanced units in the work of preventing disasters in the past, and give explanatory information to raise the farmers' awareness of the disaster crisis in combination with the actual conditions of the units concerned.

The UAWK organizations in Nampho Municipality are encouraging their members to display high patriotism in realigning ditches and repairing embankments with a firm viewpoint that the work for preventing disasters is an important work for protecting the precious land of the country and increasing grain production.

The North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the UAWK is making public the types of disasters, dangers and methods of coping with crisis, and other organizations of the UAWK across the country including North Hwanghae and Kangwon provinces are conducting the offensive ideological work to raise the awareness of crisis among their members. -0-
