Efforts to Improve Appearance of Provincial Seats in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- Construction and reconstruction projects are under way in different parts of the DPRK to spruce up the appearance of provincial seats, according to Rodong Sinmun.
Jagang Province is pushing ahead with the construction of thousands of houses as the first stage to transform Kanggye City into the mountainous one in the northern part of the country.
Nampho Municipality is waging the second-stage project on the basis of the successes and experience gained in the first-stage project for the terraced residential district. At the same time, it is concentrating efforts on the remodeling of gymnasium and the construction of the new rhythmic cinema.
Sinuiju City in North Phyongan Province reconstructed and repaired houses and public buildings and paved roads in many sections.
It installed new bus stops in different parts and conducted the paving blocks, road paving, tending of lawns and greening, thus turning streets and villages into more beautiful ones.
Ryanggang Province is building a modern wading pool and a riding club equipped with a riding knowledge dissemination room, a riding course and a basic training ground.
South Hamgyong Province is hastening the construction of 1 000 flats and pavement for main roads in Hamhung City, and North Hwanghae Province the construction of thousands of flats and indoor swimming pool with large capacity.
Other provinces are striving to improve the appearance of provincial seats. -0-
